Welcome!
I am so happy you found me. Let me introduce myself.
Where I Started
My name is Megan Watson. I was born and raised in Plano, TX. I received my Bachelor’s in Dance Performance and Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
After graduating, I moved back to TX and started teaching group Pilates classes. I completed the Balanced Body Comprehensive Instructor Training in 2019.
My love for empowering clients to pursue stronger, healthier lives through mindful movement is what led me to my next calling, nutrition!
Dancer Turned Dietitian
As a collegiate dancer, nutrition was always a priority for me. Eating healthy contributed to my physical ability and fueled my demanding schedule. Unfortunately, I also experienced firsthand how a poor relationship with food can contribute to anxiety and confusion.
I never considered becoming a dietitian until after I graduated college and started working in the fitness industry. I knew that in order for my clients to truly reach their wellness goals, it would take more than just physical changes. Nutrition is the most important component to optimal health. I wanted to provide my clients with evidence-based tools and resources to make healthy eating realistic and accessible.
A New Chapter
I moved back to OKC to attend the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center’s Coordinated MA in Dietetics Program, and I graduated in July 2022. One month later, I passed my boards and became an official Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
I relocated back to Plano, TX, and I currently work as a Clinical Dietitian at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. I work with a high acuity patient population specializing in GI surgery and hepatobiliary cancers. My passion is working directly with clients who face challenging diagnoses and improving their health outcomes with adequate nutrition.
In addition to my clinical role, I work as a corporate dietitian at Texas Instruments. I provide one-on-one personal nutrition consultations, develop wellness programs, and provide education to TI employees nationwide.
I find great fulfillment helping my clients reach their personal health and fitness goals. I plan to incorporate my dance and fitness experience into my future career as a dietitian. My goal is to bridge the gap between mindful movement and healthy eating with a more functional, inclusive, and realistic approach to food.
